Memoirs of a Lone Drifter ( part 2 )

He stood there, confused. He was not sure of his whereabouts and how did he end up here.
He was on a mountainside, overlooking the vast land stretching as far as the eyes can see.
There were fields, trees, and streams. The sky was clear, and the sun was high. It is an unfamiliar sight. He could not remember whom he was, or where from, but he had a feeling this is not his home. He did not feel a pull to the scene. Then he thought: Have he ever felt that pull?
He started vaguely remember. Yes, he did. Long time ago, he had a home. It was not a place though; it was a face. Then it all came rushing back.
He remembered his name, his home, whose face he saw.
He remembered why he left, and he shuddered and looked around, scared. He thought he left his demons behind, lost them; but he is not sure anymore.
Was this his destination? His final stop? was his road supposed to end here?
His long journey, now it felt like it started at the dawn of time, lead him here. He can not remember exactly how he got "here" though. Where is here anyway? Is this "home"?
Deep down he realized this is not home. This is another stop on his way home. His home will not be a place, he knew that much. His home will be a face, caring heart, a companion.
He remembered he thought he found that home during his journey, but he was mistaken.
He looked one more time at the fields in front of him. The beauty of it all, the peace, the promise of a new beginning. ButNot his new beginning. He knew that, he accepted it, he smiled bitterly, looked again at his worn down shoes, took deep breath, and he walked, again.
His journey was not over yet.
His Home was waiting, he knew.
